Sky News host Peter Gleeson says there is speculation Daniel Andrews himself “will go before Christmas” following the recent resignation of Victorian health minister Jenny Mikakos.
“Good luck with that one, you wouldn’t prise him out of that office with a crowbar,” Mr Gleeson said.
Ms Mikakos resigned from her role on Saturday after Premier Andrews recently named her as the person responsible for the state’s hotel quarantine program.
“The brutal political slaying of Jenny Mikakos by Victorian premier Daniel Andrews was overdue and not surprising,” Mr Gleeson said.
“It had to happen because it is clear that this government has handled the COVID-19 response appallingly and Mikakos was one of the key ministers to drop the ball”.
Mr Gleeson also said, “surely it’s time for the hapless Jobs Minister Martin Pakula to go”.
“Pakula is such a liability for this government. He just doesn’t get anything right”.
